Kate Middleton and Prince William Take the Royal Baby to Scotland to Meet Prince Philip
It’s baby’s first flight! Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton boarded a private jet with royal baby Prince George — along with husband Prince William and the family’s nanny, Jessie Webb — for a visit to Balmoral Castle, the Windsors’ royal estate in Scotland.
Us Weekly reports that the royal baby will finally get to meet his great-grandfather, Prince Philip, 91, for the first time during this visit. Prince Philip has been recovering from exploratory abdominal surgery since late June and was not able to travel to Kensington Palace when George was born. The Queen and her husband usually travel to Balmoral for at least four weeks in late summer, but the Their Royal Highnesses have been staying at the castle since July.
It will be quite the royal family gathering as William’s uncle Prince Andrew as well as his daughters Beatrice and Eugenie are visiting as well. Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla are also nearby at their own estate in Birhall.
The Duke and Duchess plan to stay at Balmoral for about a week with George. While visiting, there are plans for William to go hunting with his grandfather. Royal visits to the castle usually include deer stalking, shooting, and picnics. Sounds like fun to us!
