Kate Middleton Biding Time During Labor? iPod, Laptop Brought to Hospital
Luxury birthing suite? Check! Tunes fit for a prince or princess? Check! Kate Middleton is finally in labor, and it appears the Duchess may be biding some time before she gives birth to the royal baby with some diversions. An observer told Us Magazine that a laptop and iPod were dropped off at St. Mary's Hospital, where the duchess is giving birth, by royal officers.
According to the International Business Times, Kate had been downloading songs to create a playlist to listen to during labor. Rather than choosing the typical calming, classic tunes, the expectant mother was said to be focusing on chart-topping hits.
Bruno Mars, Calvin Harris, and Of Monsters and Men are apparently some of the artists whose songs the Duchess is downloading. A source claimed in early July that, "She has been filling her iPod with music she wants playing while she's in labor.”
The Duke and Duchess are no stranger to hit music, or musicians. Ellie Goulding performed at the couple’s reception following their popular nuptials. If the reports are accurate, the newest royal is set to be welcomed into the world with heaps of good music.
In fact, classical artist Paul Mealor has written a song specifically for the royal baby. The track, sweetly titled "Sleep On," is a lullaby that was created by the world famous composer. Hayley Westenra will record the song and will be releasing the track just in time for the newborn's arrival.
Mealor said in a statement, "After writing music for the royal wedding, it seemed natural to provide the musical accompaniment for the next stage in the royal couple's journey together.”
Westenra commented on the exciting opportunity, saying, "Paul and I got to work together on a song called ‘Sleep On’ in honor of William and Kate's new arrival as it's such a joyous occasion which we can all celebrate."
It sounds like the royal baby’s arrival will bring music to people’s ears in more ways than one!
