Time flies, doesn't it? Indeed, it's hard to believe it has already been three years since Kate Middleton and Prince William tied the knot — and you won't believe what gift Wills picked out for his wife to celebrate!
William and Kate's third wedding anniversary is this Tuesday, April 29, and he has been busy picking out romantic gifts for his lady love to commemorate the happy occasion. According to the Daily Mail, William opted for a Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch for Kate, which had a sapphire stone embedded in it to perfectly match her engagement ring. Aww!
As it turns out, the ring and sapphire stone belonged to William's late mother, Princess Diana. Diana also used to wear a watch made by the same brand that William picked out for Kate.
We all know that money is really no object for the royals — but we were still curious as to how much this present set William back. As it turns out, the watch itself cost $5,950 — and it's safe to say that the sapphire stone is priceless, given its sentimental value.
Even though their anniversary hasn't arrived yet, William gave the watch to Kate prior to their tour of New Zealand this month, and Kate reportedly wore it during every day of the tour. And no, we're not crying about this sweet story — we just have something caught in our eye. Uh, give us a minute, OK?
Wish the couple a happy anniversary in the comments section!
