This time last year the world had yet to know the joy of Prince George. The little heir to the throne was just a handful of weeks shy of making his royal entrance, but his July 22 birthday means this year was his first Father’s Day! So how’d the tiny tot with the big-time personality celebrate with Prince William? Matching polo shirts and ponies? Actually, yes!
The blond cherub helped his mama play cheerleader as Dad and Uncle Harry played polo on Sunday, June 15. While the 10-month-old is still too young to join in the mallet-swinging fun, he looked to have a heck of a time showing off his new skill: walking!
That’s right; the little world traveler who captivated the entire universe on his grand tour of Australia and New Zealand earlier this year can now toddle about on his own two feet. Watch the video above to see him strutting his stuff as mom Kate Middleton tries to keep up.
Kate actually clued us in on her son’s big achievement last week. In fact, she’s hoping George gets his sea legs now that he’s proven himself such a confident landlubber! During a visit to the National Maritime Museum in London, she chatted with Olympic sailor Sir Ben Ainslie about her baby boy someday learning to sail.
“She’s from a sailing family and she loves sailing,” Sir Ben explained. “You can tell she’s always been keen on it and her face just lights up when she’s talking about it.”
Just like ours did upon seeing Prince George in those pink overalls!
