Kate Walsh’s New NBC Show, Bad Judge, to Compete in Timeslot Against Grey’s Anatomy
Update: Crisis averted! ABC announced its fall schedule today (May 13), and Grey's is actually moving to 8 p.m. — meaning Kate Walsh's NBC show, Bad Judge, won't conflict with it. Maybe Kate has some real sway after all!
Original story: Kate Walsh, where is your loyalty?!
Just kidding. We know that the ravishing redhead — best known to us as Addison Forbes Montgomery of Grey's Anatomyand Private Practice fame — didn't choose the timeslot for her new NBC comedy, Bad Judge.
But that doesn't change the fact that the show is scheduled for Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET on NBC. That means that Kate's immense charm — irrepressible even when she's playing a hard-living adjudicator — will work against the ratings of Grey's, her former homebase!
In any case, the show looks hilarious, so we can hardly begrudge the 46-year-old actress the competition. Here's how NBC describes the new show:
"No excuses, no apologies, no compromises. Wild child Rebecca Wright knows how to have a good time, but she also happens to be one of L.A.'s toughest and most respected criminal court judges. She has a reputation for unorthodox behavior in the courtroom, including creative rulings and saying exactly what’s on her mind. Her private life, on the other hand, is anything but innocent. She parties too much and rocks out on the drums in a band with her best friend, Jenny. While there's no shortage of male admirers who would love to spend time with her, she's not ready to settle down… except when an 8-year-old boy — whose parents were put in jail by Rebecca — needs her help. He may, in fact, be the one thing that starts to tame this 'bad' judge.
OK, Kate, we'll forgive you… as long as you bring Addison back to the halls of the hospital for at least one episode of Grey's next season!
