This isn’t just any ol’ film, though — it’s Courteney Cox’s directorial debut! However, it isn’t a bright-and-sunny project like Courteney’s show Cougar Town; this one is definitely a drama. According to Deadline, Hello I Must Be Going centers around “Ted Morgan (Seann William Scott), a depressed man who heads back to his hometown to right some wrongs before committing suicide.” Kate plays Kathleen Morgan, Ted’s sister-in-law, who will likely be helping him through this struggle.
The script was penned by David Flebotte, who served as co-executive producer on Desperate Housewives, is consulting producer on Raising Hope, and has written for the likes of Boardwalk Empire. With that resume and her fantastic supporting cast — Rob Riggle, Olivia Thirlby, Kyle Gallner, and Garret Dillahunt — it’s going to be one for the record books.
Plus, Kate is no stranger to dramatic situations, including dealing with some suicidal patients on Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice, and we’re sure she’ll be fantastic in this role. Hopefully she can wrap this film and Full Circle in time to make at least one appearance in Grey’s AnatomySeason 10, but we’re not holding our breath.
