Kate Walsh Talks Potential Grey’s Anatomy Return — Addison to the OR, Stat!

Grey's Anatomy is not lacking redheaded docs, thanks to Owen's (Kevin McKidd) fiery ruff and April's (Sarah Drew) auburn locks. But what about the O.G. redhead, Addison Adrianne Forbes Montgomery Shepherd Reilly (Kate Walsh)?

The world-class neonatal surgeon hasn't been seen on Grey's since the alternate reality episode, Season 8's "If/Then." That was nearly two seasons ago!

And this is a character who, even though she had her own show, would pop up at least once a season for five consecutive years.

So what gives? When will Addison finally make it up to the Emerald City and darken the doorways of Grey Sloan Memorial?

At the Oceana Partners Award Gala on October 30, Glamour told Kate about creator Shonda Rhimes's desire to have Addy back and asked if she'd be game.

"Of course I’d consider coming back if asked," she responded. "Of course! I love Shonda! It’s like home base. Absolutely."

For the moment, however, Kate's dance card is pretty full. The 46-year-old actress is gearing up to film her role in FX's 10-episode adaptation of the crime drama Fargo, in which she'll play Gina, a "former stripper" and a "trophy wife-type and reluctant mother of twin sons."

OK, Shonda, you still have Kate's number right? Let's make a deal!
