Was the pressure of filming Keeping Up with the Kardashians the final straw for Kris and Bruce Jenner's marriage?
According to family friend Kathie Lee Gifford, stress related to the couple’s reality stardom was what put the final nail in the coffin on their their 22-year marriage.
On Wednesday’s episode of the Today show, Kathie Lee reveals that the family’s business dealings never stop, even when the pair are at home — one of many reasons Bruce and Kris may have chosen to spend some time apart in the first place.
“I think they’ve just been under such unbelievable pressure, but there’s just so many things going on,” she says.
“The last time I was at Kris’ house, if you walked through, in every different room of the house, somebody was meeting with someone about a new deal. If it’s always about the deals, and you can’t find your husband in your house or your wife in your house, or your kids, because there’s so much going on, it’s just gotten out of control.”
Kathie Lee, who is godmother to the couple’s daughters, Kendall and Kylie, says that, while the couple and family members had been denying any marital strife until yesterday, she’s known that Kris and Bruce were headed for a break for a “long, long time.”
While the couple has separated and are living apart, Kathie Lee admits that she doesn’t think the situation is hopeless.
“I’m hoping for the family’s sake that they’re gonna be reconciled,” she says. “They really do love one another.”
