Every season of The Real Housewives ends with an episode of unseen footage, but there was apparently so much extra drama leftover from The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 5, Bravo’s airing a juicy, two-part tell-all starting tonight at 9 p.m. ET.
“There’s not enough room to fit in everything that happens,” Kathy Wakile explains to Wetpaint Entertainment in an exclusive interview. “So when they run these episodes, it helps fill in the blanks. It completes the story.”
Yet while the unseen footage episodes are usually lighthearted, Kathy’s preparing herself for some ugliness, too. “I’m assuming there will be more dark moments than usual because, frankly, it was a pretty dark season. But now everything’s ok. I truly believe if you want things to get better, you have to dig deep. And we dug deep.”
Kathy admits she’s somewhat relieved about the recent rumors that Dina Manzo’s set to rejoin the show next season — if only because it will take the heat off the Giudice/Gorga/Wakile clan for a little while.
“It’s tiresome and I’m over it,” Kathy says. “I’m over all the drama with our family.”
If Dina does return, will she be a friend or a foe to our beloved Kath? “Oh, I’ve known Dina for a long time now,” Kathy explains. I’ve been to most of her Ladybug events and she’s always been very pleasant to me. We’re fine.”
Now that the cameras are off for the time being, however, Kathy’s focused on writing a new dessert cookbook…and being there for her family, including cousin Teresa Giudice.
As far as Teresa’s legal problems go, Kathy says, “I think it’s a very private issue for them. But I want to be there for her if she needs me. The specifics are not my business and I don’t need them. I’m more of a feelings person. And as far as that goes, I’m here.”
Part 1 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey tell-all airs tonight at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
