Katie Holmes Describes Her First Kiss, a ‘Dawson’s Creek’ Guest Star Who’s Way Hot (PHOTO)
It’s a good thing we’re not famous actors, because otherwise our first kiss might have been televised nationwide like it was for Katie Holmes.
The 37-year-old Dawson’s Creek alum discussed her various on-screen kisses on The Late Late Show With James Corden last night, February 17 — but the guy with whom she first locked lips was neither James Van Der Beek nor Joshua Jackson, aka Dawson and Pacey.
“I do remember my first. I was 18 and it was on Dawson’s Creek,” she said.
“It was a guest star, and it’s so awkward because with a first kiss in life, if it doesn’t go well, you’re kind of like, ‘Oh, I gotta get home.’ And you never have to deal with that person [again]. But on screen you’re gonna have to have lunch and probably work again tomorrow.”
With those comments in mind, we delved deep into our teenage TV-watching memory and tracked down the guy in question.
In Season 1, Episode 3 — aptly titled “Kiss” — Katie’s character, Joey, falls hard for a violinist named Anderson, who’s visiting Capeside with his family.
(Fun fact: The episode was written by Rob Thomas, who would go on to create Veronica Mars and iZombie.)
And the actor in question is Ian Bohen. Now 39, Ian has had weighty roles in recent years on Teen Wolf and Chicago P.D. And he’s only gotten hotter with age.
But Katie kept mum when James asked whether James or Joshua was the better kisser. “I can’t!” she said, laughing.
Fellow guest Ryan Reynolds told James he went to high school with Josh and knows firsthand he’s “terrific” to kiss.
OK, so maybe being a famous actor isn’t so bad — you get to kiss people cast for being good-looking.
