Katy Perry’s “Roar” Raises Money for Children’s Hospital (VIDEO)

Leave it to Katy Perry to create a pop anthem so inspiring it raises money for a children’s hospital.

The “Firework” singer’s latest single, “Roar,” was the inspiration behind a lip-synch video created by the folks over at New Hampshire’s Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. Before you watch the final cut, be sure and have some tissues handy. It’s a tearjerker.

There’s not an elephant in sight, and yet the hospital’s take on Katy’s song packs a punch as strong as the pop diva’s jungle-themed official video. In the clip, the hospital’s young patients sing along to Katy’s hit song while staff members dressed in scrubs shimmy their way into our hearts and typically stuffy hospital administrators shake their hips for a good cause.

There’s also a girl dressed in a purple and blue tie-dyed t-shirt who totally works the camera and an adorable baby who attempts to roar only to end up smiling.

Katy has yet to publicly comment on the tribute, but the internet’s welcomed the clip with open arms. As of publishing, the video has more than 1.5 million clicks on YouTube and had raised more than $650,000 for the hospital’s upcoming CHaD Hero Half Marathon, according to People.

You’d know who we think’d make a great guest performer at that event? Katy Perry.
