Keeping Up With The Kardashians: Ripped From The Tabloid Headlines?

Reality TV fans waited oh-so-patiently for the return of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, but when the show’s eighth season premiere on June 2, we were struck with a weird sense of deja vu. Haven’t we heard this all before?

From the get to, it seemed like every storyline on the show was carefully scripted to address the family rumors that had been in the tabloids!

In episode one, Kris and Bruce Jenner were getting on one another’s nerves big time, so he got himself a Malibu bachelor pad. But by episode’s end, Kris missed him and he’d come back home. Divorce rumors: Addressed!

The big news in episode one, of course, was that Kim and Kanye are having a girl! But for real reality fans, even that was no surprise.

Things got even worse in episode two. This time, the tabloid subjects on tap were Rob’s weight and the rumors that Kris had abused her kids when they were young! Obviously, both of these items had gotten plenty of media play already. Rob’s weight gain had already been a part of Kourtney & Kim Take Miami, and its cause (his bad relationship with mean ex-girlfriend Rita Ora) revealed. Villain: identified! On KUWTK, his self-sabotage at losing the weight was the focus, which is really just a variation on a theme.

As for the abuse rumors, obviously they are a horrible and upsetting thing to happen to a family. They made headlines after Robert Kardashian’s ex-wife Ellen Pearson Kardashian leaked an alleged journal of Robert’s to the tabloids. Story after story appeared in the tabloids and gossip sites, and the whole Kardashian family came out swinging on social media. They made it clear, in no uncertain terms, what they thought of Ellen. But we got to hear it all over again on TV! Yes, it’s a juicy subject, but these people live crazy lives! Surely there must be some new information here.

OK fans, what do you think, are we being too harsh here? Or do you find these stories just as repetitive as we do? Weigh in below!
