Dance Moms’ Kelly Hyland Banned From Contacting Abby Lee Miller After Alleged Assault
This Dance Moms catfight is the gift that keeps on giving — at least from a Lifetime producer’s standpoint. Recently, news broke that dance mom Kelly Hyland had been booked back in November for allegedly assaulting dance studio head Abby Lee Miller. And though reports were saying that the drama may have been exaggerated for the cameras, both Kelly and Abby Lee were in court in NYC today to deal with the ensuing charges.
Kelly is facing charges of assault and harassment after reportedly getting into a physical altercation with the Abby Lee Dance Company director. The incident is said to have begun when the stage mom felt that her daughters, Brooke and Paige, had been slighted by Abby Lee.
With both women in attendance, the judge ordered Kelly to steer clear of Abby Lee while the case is still pending — including no talking, phone calls or even tweeting between the two. One thing of note: a camera from Lifetime was also reportedly there to capture the legal drama. Not really doing much to dispute those accusations!
Kelly and Abby Lee have a bit of a history, so this beef runs deep. Before enrolling her own daughters at the dance studio, the mom was a dancer herself with the Abby Lee Dance Company. She quit at 14 for cheerleading, and she’s said on the show that she often feels Abby Lee punishes her for her decision by treating her daughters badly.
Wonder if we’ll be seeing this on this current season or if we’ll have to wait ... time will tell!
