Kelly Rutherford’s Ex Gets Full Custody of Children For Good — Report
Kelly Rutherford’s bitter battle with her ex-husband Daniel Giersch over their two children has finally ended. Sadly, it looks like the Gossip Girl alum will never be able to bring them back to the United States.
The German businessman was granted full custody and it seems the heart-breaking ruling was all Kelly's fault.
The case’s judge was apparently terrified Kelly, 47, would end up illegally holding Hermes, 9, and Helena, 6, here in America, TMZ reports. The authority said there was “a strong risk of the children's abduction and retention in the United States.”
There is a precedent for that judgment. Over the summer she refused to return the tots to their father in Monaco, where they’ve lived since 2012. She was eventually forced to hand them over to their grandmother for a flight back to the French principality.
Now, the Los Angeleo will only be able to visit with her children in France or Monaco. Luckily, the court granted her roughly $3,281 a month for traveling expenses.
The blonde will get to have her kids for half of their “Christmas, spring, and summer vacations,” but the lengthy visits will still have to happen in one of the two approved European countries
But there is one bright spot in all of this: Kelly’s ex will still have to consult her on all “health, schooling, religious education, and any change of residence” choices.
The custody battle has been raging on for six years following the Rutherford-Giersch’s divorce, which happened when the TV star was still pregnant with Helena.
Our hearts go out to Kelly right now.
