Kenya Moore hasn’t been so kind to her Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star Kandi Burruss this season. The beauty queen has criticized the Xscape singer’s weight, even saying that Kandi could afford to “skip some meals” after Kandi revealed that she was late to NeNe Leakes’ Savannah send-off because she stopped for some much needed Chick-fil-A. What’s with the shade girl?!
Kenya was a guest on Watch What Happens Live last Sunday and host Andy Cohen revealed that tons of people on Twitter were offended by Ms. Moore’s snide remarks. Still, Kenya maintains it was all in good fun. “Kandi is the coolest girl in the world and she’s talked about the fact that she wants to lose a couple of pounds,” she began. “I was just having some fun and I think Kandi can laugh at that too, she knows she looks good. She’s built like a brick house.”
We don’t think Kenya’s remark was meant to be taken seriously, but given how hard Kandi has worked to shed some unwanted pounds, we really wish she had kept her observation to herself. No word on how Kandi reacted to the dig, but we bet she took it in stride.
In her Bravo blog, Kenya explained herself further and talked a little bit about her own body. “Kandi knows I think she has a great figure, so I’m sure she laughed as we have together about the 5-10 pounds she wants to lose. I’m not a tiny girl myself, and I appreciate a woman with curves. I won Miss USA at 128 lbs and I’m now a healthy 145-150 lbs at 5’10”.
The twirl queen even threw in a little plug for her fitness DVD, concluding, “As women, we know 5 lbs is everything to us, but I simply encourage all women to be healthy. My best selling workout DVD Booty Boot Camp is available worldwide on Amazon.com.”
