Kenya Moore Slams Rumors She Faked Her Dog’s Death

Kenya Moore may not be every fan’s favorite on Real Housewives of Atlanta, but she doesn’t deserve to be kicked while she’s down.

The April 6 episode of RHoA showed Kenya crying over the death of her dog, Velvet, whom she loved like a child and had for the past seven years. But some cynical fans wondered if Kenya faked Velvet’s death for the show, even using photos on her friend Brandon DeShazer’s social media as “evidence” that the Yorkie was still alive and living with him.

But the photos mentioned were not taken recently, they were from earlier in 2013 when Velvet was alive. Brandon slammed the rumors, telling TMZ, "Anybody who has pets knows the kind of love you develop for them. To report that something like that would be staged … it’s disgusting."

Kenya is said to still be heartbroken over the death of Velvet, and called the rumors “evil.”

Brandon also tried to clear the air on Twitter, responding to a fan who said some people didn't believe Velvet was dead because of a picture he posted. Brandon replied that those people were "insensitive idiots" and the pic was taken in March 2013.

Brandon added, "My photos of Velvet didn't pass away. Our beloved Velvet did. I have what I have to honor her memory. And those are my pictures. #RIPVelvet."

For a lot of us, our pets are like our kids, so it’s quite a low blow to accuse someone of faking their death just for ratings/attention. Say what you want about Kenya, but she loved her baby Velvet. RIP, furry angel!
