2016 Billboard Music Awards: Kesha Makes Comeback With Bob Dylan Hit (VIDEO)
The singer (whose full name is Kesha Rose Sebert) returned to the spotlight to perform the Bob Dylan classic “It Ain’t Me Babe...” but it wasn’t easy getting here.
Wearing a demure white suit and singing with only the accompaniment of a violinist and pianist, the 29-year-old put in a powerful performance and only further solidified her comeback since her sexual assault claims against producer Dr. Luke have prevented her from recording new music.
Check out the clip of her performance here:
While we were able to take in the L.A. native’s performance tonight, it was only actually OK’d by Dr. Luke and the Kemosabe label a few days prior on May 19.
Having previously barred the “TiK ToK” singer from tonight’s stage, they lifted the ban with the understanding that neither she nor her supporters would “use the performance [to discuss the litigation]” — which is what rumors suggested.
Hopefully some resolution will be found soon in this legal battle, but for now, at least we’re seeing Kesha get at least a little bit of freedom.
