Ke$ha’s Mom Announces Music Career Changes for Her Daughter

News that Ke$ha entered rehab for eating disorders just broke a week ago, but the pop star is reportedly already thinking about life after her 30 days and it’s decidedly less auto-tuned.

Ke$ha’s mother, Pebe Sebert, says her daughter “doesn’t want to be forced to make stupid pop music” post-rehab, according to Perez Hilton. Of course, the “Timber” singer hasn’t officially announced any kind of career change (kinda hard to do PR from rehab, you know?) but Pebe, a singer/songwriter herself, insists we’ll be seeing a whole new side to the 26-year-old.

“She’s trying to get her career back,” Pebe says, explaining her baby girl will stay in rehab as long as it takes to get better. “She wants to do the music she cares about...the music she wants to do.”

What’s that music sound like? “‘Tik Tok’ was really her, but she was like 20 and now she’s almost 27 and over it,” explains Mama K, adding the infamously shocking performer has more to her than backup tracks.

“She writes amazing, beautiful ballads as good as Bob Dylan,” Pebe says, perhaps with a healthy dose of maternal pride. Those songs are “deep” and “meaningful” but “they never see the light of day,” Pebe explains. “The people she’s working with don’t even want her opinion.”

This isn’t the first time Pebe’s called out the music industry folks tied to her daughter. She told that one “advisor” pressured Ke$ha to drop 15 pounds in 30 days. “He told her he didn’t care if she shoved her hand down her throat or took illegal drugs, but she had to lose the weight.”

We’d be all for a new chapter in Ke$ha’s career if it gets her away from that kind of negativity!
