It’s official: One of the Jonas Brothers is now a father. Oldest bro Kevin Jonas, 26, welcomed his first child, a little girl named Alena Rose Jonas, on February 2, 2014. His wife, Danielle, has yet to tweet — we’re assuming she’s still a bit tired and likely preoccupied with things more important than Twitter — but practically the entire Jonas family has already taken to the internet to gush about Kevin and Dani’s new arrival.
Unfortunately, the news is tinged with sadness. The brother’s beloved grandfather passed away on January 28, and his memorial service was held just one day before little Alena came into the world.
“My grandfather’s memorial was yesterday,” Nick Jonas tweeted on February 2. “Today we welcome a new addition to the Jonas family. God is great. Can't wait to meet my new niece.”
Joe Jonas wrote, “As one life ends, another begins. Incredibly happy to be an uncle for the first time. Welcome to this world my beautiful niece.”
Kevin’s tweet was simple and sweet, “I'm so in love with her.”
The guys’ dad, Paul Jonas, has always gone by @PapaJonas on Twitter, but in honor of Alena’s arrival, he changed his display name to Grand Papa Jonas.
Little bro Frankie Jonas, 13, also changed his Twitter profile, adding a photo of himself giving little Alena a big kiss.
Though the Jonas family has dealt with a difficult loss lately, it’s clear that little Alena is bringing a huge amount of joy into their lives. Congrats to the Jonases on the birth of their baby girl!
