Will Kanye West’s Proposal to Kim Kardashian Appear on TV?

UPDATE (October 24, 2013, 9:00 a.m. PT):

Looks like Papa Ryan Seacrest got his way...kind of. E! has released the first official video of the engagement and it's got the look and feel of a classic KUWTK episode. The channel hasn't announced if the footage will make a full episode of the hit reality series but they most certainly have footage to use.

UPDATE (October 23, 2013, 3:40 p.m. PT):

No word on if the proposal was filmed for the show but there does appear to be a professional film crew on hand in the first video publicly released of the proposal.

Is Papa Ryan behind this? Perhaps though Kanye and Kim will likely get final say on if anything airs.

UPDATE (2:30 p.m. PT):

Despite an earlier report from TMZ, it sounds like the Kimye proposal may not be finding its way to KUWTK. “The Kardashians’ home network of E! said no cameras were on hand to document the proposal,” says RadarOnline.com. We’re not 100 percent sure we believe this latest news, but, then again, Kim and Kanye did keep the birth of daughter North West completely under wraps. Ryan Seacrest, what say you?

ORIGINAL STORY (11:31 a.m. PT):

As true romantics, we’ve always loved that one classic rhyme: First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a televised special that fulfills your contractual obligation to the network.

At least that’s how it will likely play out in Kim Kardashian’s case, when her engagement special potentially makes it way to E!.

TMZ reports that Kanye’s massive proposal at San Francisco’s AT&T Stadium on October 21 will likely become the latest big-ticket fodder for Keeping Up with the Kardashians, thanks to the boatload of cameras on hand during the rapper’s elaborate engagement ceremony.

While sources claim that Kim was surprised by the proposal, the people who made sure the event went off without a hitch had to keep Kanye’s secret prior to the event without any leaks to the media. For members of the orchestra, who were each paid a whopping $1,000 bucks to play Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful” for Kim as Kanye popped the question, that meant they had to remain mum (with the help of some iron-clad non-disclosure agreements) for a full 48 hours.

However, once Kim arrived at the stadium, all bets were off — the entire thing was filmed, Instagrammed, and tweeted, and is said to be a sure thing for next season of KUWTK, despite Kanye’s hesitance to appear on the show in the past.

Although his proposal may make it to air, TMZ’s source says one thing is for sure: Much like his appearance on Kris over the summer, Kanye will have final say over how the whole thing goes down.
