Kim Kardashian is a master of monetizing all of her various on-camera talents and she doesn't want the family tradition to stop with her.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star is reportedly aching to make her daughter, North, the show's newest star, but her fiancé, Kanye West, won't hear of it.

The show, which has suffered a severe drop in viewership in recent months, could certainly use the ratings boost North would bring, but Kanye's position remains firm: North should be able to live a normal life without cameras involved.

“Kim really wants to put North on the show," a source tells “Viewers and fans of the show want to see Kim interact with her daughter."

Despite Kim's pleas, "Kanye shuts Kim down whenever she brings it up," says the Kardashian insider. "[He] doesn’t want his daughter ever to appear on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. He thinks reality television is tacky, and doesn't want North on display. He will be very happy when Kim is done with the show."

While Kim and Kanye have thus far been extremely careful about North's highly-cultivated public image, it seems that the couple may be relaxing their rules a bit. On Wednesday, Kim posted the first ever mother-daughter photo of herself and her bundle of joy to Instagram. In traditional Kardashian style, the picture was more about Kim than her chubby-cheeked tot — in fact, the top of North's head was the only part that made it into the photo — but hey, it's a start.

Do you think Kim and Kanye should put North on KUWTK?
