For most monogamous people, the rules of dating are relatively simple: be honest, and don’t accept money to go on dates with other people. For Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, things are a bit more complicated.
The rapper reportedly wants to put a stop to Kim’s habit of accepting money for dates after a recent paid outing with Austrian billionaire Richard Lugner went awry at Vienna’s Opera Ball. Kim scooted out of the event after being approached by a man in blackface pretending to be Kanye and later becoming the target of racial slurs after she refused a dance with a stranger.
While Kim made a staggering $500,000 for her role as Richard’s arm candy, a reported 10 percent of which went to momager Kris Jenner for managerial fees, Kanye thinks the practice of dating for cash isn’t exactly the classiest game on the block.
“It’s not about the money. Kanye told her no more paid appearances,” says a source for RadarOnline.com. “It was selling her soul and not worth it. How much more money does Kim need? It cheapens Kim and her brand to be paid to go to parties.”
While Kanye may not like the idea of his fiancée hanging on the arm of some stranger for cash, he’ll be hard-pressed to get Kris on board.
“She is always telling Kim that opportunities to make such big money isn’t [sic] always going to be there… her motto is, you have to strike while the iron is hot. So for the meantime, Kris doesn’t have any plans to cancel any of Kim’s upcoming appearances. In fact, she is still booking Kim! Kim is stuck in the middle.”
Do you think Kim should continue going on paid dates?
