When YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley leaked the video of Kanye West proposing to Kim Kardashian last year, Kimye was furious — so mad, in fact, that they’re pursuing a lawsuit against Chad for breaking their confidentiality agreement. Unsurprisingly, Chad isn’t exactly jumping at the chance to enter the throes of a Kardashian-fueled legal battle, and Kim and Kanye aren’t having it.
According to RadarOnline.com, Kim and Kanye have asked a judge to force Chris to get cracking on the case — including a hefty fine of $6,000 to cover their legal fees while they’ve been waiting for him to get a move along. In the words of their attorney, “Enough is enough!”
In the court documents they filed, the couple claim Chris has “refused to comply with every single discovery obligation in this case” and has asked for his deposition to be rescheduled. Maybe he’s worried about pulling a Bieber? He’s also not rushing to the fax machine to send over any documents that would back any of his claims in the case, either.
“Although Mr. Hurley represented to the court that his use of [Kim and Kanye’s] images did nothing to increase the value or worth of his company, when we asked a document request on this exact point, he claims it was irrelevant and refused to respond,” Kim and Kanye’s attorney wrote in a scathing email sent to Chris’s legal counsel.
Their court date is scheduled for November 17, over a year after the video leak actually occurred. Yeah, we don’t blame Kim and Kanye for being frustrated. Let’s get the ball rolling, Chris!
