Vogue editor Anna Wintour won't even be fashionably late to the Kimye wedding. She's just not coming.
According to Page Six, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West hoped Anna would attend the Italian wedding, after she featured them on Vogue's April cover, but she couldn't make it. A Vogue spokeswoman confirmed to Page Six, "Anna had a longstanding family commitment this weekend and sadly had to miss the wedding.
Well, it is Memorial Day weekend, and family has to come first... Or maybe she just felt like avoiding the circus. However, E! News added, one Vogue rep who will be attending is editor-at-large André Leon Talley, who described the pre-wedding bash thrown by Valentino Garavani for Vogue.
"Upon arrival at noon, the paparazzi, about 20, were already outside the gates of Valentino Garavani’s Château de Wideville, once the home to one of King Louis XIV’s maîtresse d’amour," André wrote at the start of his Vogue "wedding diary." "Kourtney Kardashian told me that about 30 photographers followed their path all the way from Paris to this beautiful and romantic place for a pre-wedding celebration. And a helicopter purred in the clouds throughout the entire visit."
Who could possibly want to miss out on all the helicopter purring at this supposedly "very small and intimate" multi-country wedding weekend event?
Page Six added that they were told staff working at the Florence wedding have been ordered to sign $5 million nondisclosure agreements not to talk about the proceedings. That does sound in keeping with the wedding rules… But what happens if someone offers them $15 million to spill the beans?
