Hey, remember when Kim Kardashian tweeted that her wedding with Kanye West would be "VERY small & intimate"? Compared to her Kris Humphries wedding, maybe, but they sure didn’t stick to small coins when it comes to the overall price tag.
Now that the Italian wedding has come and gone, E! News produced a guesstimate of what it all cost. They talked to Italy-based wedding planner Jinane Kafrouny, who estimated that the Kimye nuptials cost around $2.8 million — but that doesn't include all the time in Paris, before the Florence ceremony.
"Cost of such an event would approximately be 2 million euros excluding flights, hotel stays and the French leg of the event," Jinane told E!. So the overall cost could be upwards of $10 million.
E!’s source said the most expensive element might’ve been hiring Andrea Bocelli and the rental of Forte di Belvedere. “Bocelli normally charges from 100,000 euros to a million euros as long as the event is close to his home. Bocelli is probably their friend so the cost might of been low."
The couple reportedly spent around $400,000 to rent Forte di Belvedere for the ceremony. E! guessed that, with 200 people at the reception, the total for catering would be around $110,000. Kim and her family were also reportedly wearing "millions of dollars" worth of jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz. A flight services manager estimated how much it would cost to fly about 200 people back and forth from Florence to Paris, arriving at around $74,000 per aircraft.
There’s a lot more to add into the bill, including the lavish dinners in Paris and having Lana Del Ray perform three songs at Friday’s pre-wedding celebration at the Palace of Versailles. That reportedly cost Kanye $2.8 million on its own.
And now Kim and Kanye are on their honeymoon in Ireland, which will be followed by a flight to Prague to attend Kanye's stylist's wedding. All in all, this has not been a quickie courthouse wedding followed by a trip to Denny’s.
What do you think? If you got it, you might as well flaunt it on your big day, or should they have really kept things small and intimate?
