While there are many who still ponder whether or not women can truly balance romantic relationships, motherhood, and a professional career, Kim Kardashian is giving the age-old debate a definitive answer: Yes!
Kim has been juggling her career on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, 1-year-old daughter, North, and, of course, the drama that comes along with a marriage to Kanye West. Nevertheless, she claims that there’s nothing women can’t accomplish if they simply put their minds to it. Her defense of working moms was spurred on by PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi, who claimed that many women were only pretending to have it all, and that she wasn’t entirely sure if her own children believed her to be a good mother.
Kim responded on CNBC’s Closing Bell, saying, “My mom kind of taught us girls we could have it all. She worked hard. She taught us if you work hard, it’s all ability, prioritizing, and I think that, yeah, it could get tough.”
Though she contends that there’s nothing stopping women from achieving a work-life balance, Kim did admit to struggling with it initially. “There are so many times I didn’t want to get up and work on something, and I wanted to be home with my baby,” she added.
It seems to us like there a few factors that made Kim’s transition from working woman to working mother a little easier than most people have it — millions of dollars and attentive staff, for instance. But that doesn't me we think she’s wrong. If a former closet organizer can become the world’s biggest celebrity, we’re pretty sure almost anything is possible.
