While many new and expectant moms may have looked up to Kim Kardashian’s chic maternity style, realistic outlook on motherhood, and, of course, her near-superhuman ability to get her old body back after giving birth, her latest advice on the matter may be more than a little bit hard to hear.

Kim, whose choice to rock form-fitting designer duds and bikinis throughout her pregnancy with daughter North drew plenty of scrutiny from both fans and members of the media, is now telling her followers to do as she says and not as she did. Instead, she says pregnant women should keep themselves out of sight until their baby is born.

“I recommend hiding for a good year and having no pregnancy style,” Kim tells Elle (via RadarOnline.com). “That’s what I recommend. If you can do it, hide. Never leave the house.”

Although it sounds like Kim’s advice is decidedly tongue-in-cheek, when confronted about her harsh pregnancy prescription, Kim stuck to her guns, adding that she thinks the best pregnancy wardrobe is “a huge blanket.”

With her difficult pregnancy and the seemingly endless criticism she faced while expecting, we can’t say we blame Kim for holding these views, and who knows? With her trendsetting ability, we may just see a generation of housebound, blanket-wearing pregnant ladies soon enough.

What do you think of Kim’s advice to expectant women? Do you find her comments offensive?
