More Kim Raver on our TV sets is never a bad thing, even if she's not coming back to play Teddy Altman on Grey's Anatomy!
As TVLine reports, Kim is "nearing a deal" to return to 24 when the real-time drama returns in 2014 for a 12-episode limited event series — subtitled Live Another Day — nearly four years after the show's series finale.
For three seasons of 24, Kim played Department of Defense liaison Audrey Raines — a girlfriend of protagonist Jack Bauer. Unfortunately, she was collateral in Jack's fight against terrorists — she was kidnapped, tortured, and left in a near-catatonic state.
Long before Grey's or 24, however, Kim rose to fame on the long-running first-responder drama Third Watch — but also had regular gigs on The Nine and Lipstick Jungle. She has also starred in three pilots: NCIS: Red, The Secret Lives of Wives, and Inside the Box, the last of which was produced by Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes and had featured Grey's actors Sarah Drew and Jason George.
In case you forgot her role in Seattle, Teddy was a cardiothoracic surgeon who was both a mentor and a romantic rival to Cristina Yang, since Teddy and Owen formed a deep connection working as medics in Iraq. But after conceding Owen, she fell in love with a dying patient, Henry. Owen ultimately fired Teddy but only to set her free from that troubled hospital.
Our homegirl just can't catch a break! Here's hoping her potential 24 return is a little less traumatic than these other storylines.
