This NFL season sadly hasn't gone the way former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak's husband Kroy Biermann would have liked, as he missed much of it due to a torn Achilles tendon. However, he is definitely on the road to recovery.

Kroy has been busy healing since getting hurt in September, but he attended his team, the Atlanta Falcons', game on December 15 and cheered the team on from the sidelines.

Kroy tells Go Griz that he's hoping to be ready to compete again for the 2014 season. "Things are moving along well,'' the 28-year-old Kroy says. "I couldn't be happier with the progress. The coaching staff and the organization are great. I'm excited to continue my progress and be ready for next year.''

Meanwhile, Kroy recently received a big honor for his football skills, as was ranked at number 23 of the 50 best athletes to ever play in the Big Sky college conference of the NCAA. "It's humbling,'' Kroy said about the ranking. "It's a great honor. It makes me reflect on where I'm at and how I got here.''

We wish Kroy a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing his handsome self in a uniform again soon!
