Jon Snow stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and, guess what, he wore black. Not that he didn’t wear it well. The handsome 27-year-old actor Kit Harington chatted Jimmy up about Season 4 of Game of Thrones. Also, toilets.

We’ll dive into Season 4 shortly but we just have to address that toilet thing first. See, Kit says back in 1600s it was his relative John Harington who invented the first flushing toilet. Our brief internet research tells us Kit’s story holds water; a writer named John Harington did indeed introduce the toilet to the Royal Court and to the world. And sitting on the first Porcelain Throne? Queen Elizabeth I herself.

“She made him her godson to her, which is quite interesting,” Kit says. “She was obviously very grateful.”

Sure, but not nearly as grateful as we are for the behind-the-scenes tidbits Kit let slip during the rest of the interview. When Jimmy asks what’s it like working on a show as unpredictable as Game of Thrones, Kit tells it straight.

“We all flip through the scripts when we get them to see if we live or die,” he said. “The writers are very cruel. They sometimes write fake scenes to kill someone off and then that actor will be out of a job and scared … Now no one knows if they die or not.”

Want to know if Jon’s safe during Season 4? We can tell you but only if you don’t mind spoilers.
