Korea’s Next Top Model Judge Found Dead at 46

Sad news for America's Next Top Model Nation today. Woo Jong-wan, a stylist and judge on Korea's Next Top Model, was found dead in his home in Seoul, South Korea, on September 15. He was 46.

According to the Korea Times (via Manila Bulletin Newspaper Online), Woo’s sister found him dead in his apartment, which makes it even more tragic. She told police she had seen him the day before while he met a friend. She contacted him on Saturday but he didn't answer. She sensed something was wrong and visited his apartment, but Woo was already dead.

It's not exactly clear how or why he died. According to Korea Star Daily (via Yahoo!), Woo committed suicide by hanging himself. According to the Manila site, he died of asphyxiation but there was no suicide note found. (His sister said he was stressed from financial troubles.) However, the Manila site referenced another report that quoted the family as saying Woo died of a heart attack. An autopsy will be done soon.

It sounds like Woo was Korea's version of America's Next Top Model’s Jay Manuel and Johnny Wujek — and we'd be devastated to think of anything happening to them. Our thoughts go out to Woo's family and fans.

Catch the next episode of America's Next Top Model Cycle 19: College Edition on Friday, September 21 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
