Kim Kardashian Shouldn’t Date a Celebrity or Athlete, Says Her Grandmother

Kim Kardashian’s adorable grandmother Mary Jo Shannon — mother to Kim’s mom, Kris Jenner — has spoken up on the celebutante’s love life.

The Daily Beast interviewed the normally media-shy grandmother, who is affectionately known in the Kardashian family as M.J., about her Keeping Up With the Kardashians brethren, and she had plenty to say about Kim’s choice in men. She admitted to finding Kanye West “very charming and very sweet” when she met him at Kourtney Kardashian’s baby shower for recently-born daughter Penelope, but she wasn’t sure about him at first.

“I was a little turned off at first because of what he did to Taylor Swift,” MJ says of the incident in which Kanye interrupted Taylor’s acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Awards. “But they mocked it at the BET Awards — someone came out and interrupted him — which I thought was clever. I have nothing to fault him with.”

Still, MJ wonders why low-key Kim chooses to date men in the spotlight.

“I know [Kim] likes to stay home and go to bed at night,” MJ says. “She’s not a big partier. So why is it these big celebrities all the time? They’re just on tour, concerts, athletes. She really needs to hook up with somebody that’s got her temperament.”

We can totally see her point. But from the looks of things, Kimye is in it for the long haul!
