Kim Kardashian’s Breast Milk Treatment for Psoriasis: Does It Really Work?
Kim Kardashian’s grand scheme to steal sister Kourtney’s breast milk to treat her psoriasis has been a major storyline on the early episodes of Kourtney & Kim Take Miami. Sure it’s weird, but we don’t mind because this homeopathic remedy has led to awesomely ridiculous things like Jonathan Cheban wearing a breast pump and Kourtney squirting milk directly from her boobs onto Kim’s ankles.
The question is: Does it even work? Let’s see what a medical expert thinks.
“This is the first I have heard about breast milk helping psoriasis,” Dr. Vail Reese told WENN about the great Kardashian Kure. Instead of breast milk, the doc maintains that a simple moisturizer should be able to do the trick.
“Anything that relieves dryness can minimize the itch and inflammation of this non-infectious disease and those afflicted with this condition can do well using over-the-counter moisturizers, particularly to wet skin, without having to ask nursing mothers for extra breast milk.”
Even though Dr. Reese thinks Kim’s psoriasis solution is bogus, he still gives her a big thumbs up. “I applaud Kim Kardashian for bringing attention to a condition that is so often hidden in unnecessary shame,” he said.
The good doctor can only think of one real downside to this whole situation: “I worry that the business-oriented Kardashians might use this as an opportunity to market Kourtney’s breast milk!”
Hey, don’t give them any ideas.
