Kris Humphries might be slowly (but surely) getting over his estragned wife Kim Kardashian, but he’s definitely not cool with his ex’s ubiquitous crew. Grabbing some V-Day grub with friends, the NBA star had an awkward run-in with Kim’s BFF, PR mogul and lovable public persona Jonathan Cheban.

Cheban and Humphries – who notoriously clashed on Kourtney and Kim Take New York Season 2 when Humphries questioned Cheban’s sexuality – were both dining at NYC’s posh Catch restaurant on Feb. 13. when they had a “really uncomfortable and awkward” encounter, according to another restaurant go-er.

Cheban was there celebrating the launch of his new BATTE clothing line, but what about Kris? Turns out, nobody knows what compelled the hoopster to drop by the swanky hotspot, especially since “everybody knew” the STYLE360 party was being thrown by Elle magazine to honor Jonathan’s achievement, Hollywood Life reports.

And it gets creepier: A source tells Hollywood Life Kris sat down right across from Jonathan and “was literally starring [him] down.” We can imagine that was unnerving for the new fashion designer, but the source says it was upsetting for everyone. “It was so strange and made everyone feel weird,” says the source. Luckily, Jonathan escaped the meal in one piece – although he did trade the elevator for the stairs to avoid riding down with his bestie’s scorned lover. Good call, we’d say.
