It’s time to unravel one of the great mysteries of pop culture — exactly what, pray tell, does Kourtney Kardashian’s babydaddy Scott Disick do for a living?

Well, Life & Style asked Scott that very question in May of 2010. “You need to understand,” Scott replied, somewhat defensively. “I may be a douche to some people, but I actually do run companies. I make a lot of money, and I’m more than capable of supporting myself. I run multiple companies in the vitamin world — QuickTrim, Rejuvacare, Monte Carlo Perpetual Tan.” (Which may explain Scott’s perpetual tan.)

Fair enough. In short, Scott Disick actually works for GNC (General Nutrition Centers, Inc.). He runs businesses that make products for that company (the aforementioned QuickTrim, Rejuvacare, Monte Carlo, and now, Amidren, a male menopause pill). This may explain why Khloe and Kim attended a meet and greet at GNC in 2009. But which came first — their affiliation with GNC, or Scott’s job? Hmmm.

On an episode of Kourtney & Kim Take New York Season 1, Scott went to a red carpet event for the release of Amidren, which is for “Andropause,” a condition that describes symptoms of aging in men — but a term that is not recognized by the World Health Organization. By taking the $35 per month pill, men can supposedly “increase testosterone production, maintain lean muscle mass and decrease body fat, and heighten energy levels, sex drive, and physical performance."

We’re not sure exactly where his office is, but when henpecked assistant Dale worked for him on KKTNY’s March 20, 2011 episode, Scott mentioned that Dale may need to drive to his office somewhere in New Jersey to pick up some “product.”

In addition to "running" companies, Scott recently branched out to restaurateur. On April 23, 2012, the Kardashian family celebrated the opening of his restaurant, Ryu, in New York City. According the New York Daily News, Scott collaborated with both party promoter Chris Reda and foodie Jesse Camac, VP of Operations of the Fatty Crab restaurant chain, to launch the biz.

But it appears that he's already tired of the restaurant-running lifestyle. In late 2012, it was reported that Scott had quietly cut ties with Ryu, citing the difficulty of running the business from Miami (where he was filming this season of Kourtney & Kim Take Miami) and having his hands full with other projects. And, sadly, Ryu reportedly shut its doors after only six months of business.

We can't wait to hear what these "other projects" are!
