Kris Jenner may have played an integral role in creating the Kardashian brand, but is she overstepping her bounds as a momager by managing her kids’ romantic lives, too?
According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, which are part of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s lawsuit against YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley, who they’re suing for posting video of their engagement online, Kris revealed that she was more than just an onlooker at the over-the-top event.
“I played a major role in organizing and running the event,” disclosed Kris. “I was directly involved in formulating and was familiar with the guest list.”
While, for most families, it might be crossing the line to have your mom take such an active role in such a private moment, Kim and Kanye’s first step on the road to marital bliss was hardly the intimate event it is for most other couples.
In addition to holding it in a baseball stadium, venues which aren’t generally associated with either romance or privacy, Kim had her usual brigade of Keeping Up With the Kardashians camera operators along for the event, filming every tearful moment for the reality show.
According to Kris’ deposition, that’s the very reason Kim and Kanye are so mad about Chad spilling their soiree on social media — well, that and the fact that he was never invited in the first place.
“Mr. Hurley was not invited by the organizers of the event. He was not even invited to attend; Kim and Kanye did not know him. We would not have been upset in the least if he had to leave — or never even attended in the first place — and he had not earned the trust of Kim, Kanye, or me.”
It seems like if Kris was playing such a big role in getting the event together, she could at least have hired a bouncer or two!
Do you think it’s strange that Kris had so much influence on Kim and Kanye’s proposal?
