Kris Jenner’s marriage to Robert Kardashian may have ended in divorce, but the former couple’s relationship was far from over when the papers were filed.
The Kardashian matriarch, who, along with her daughters, has been named in a recent lawsuit for defamation and the intention of emotional distress by Robert’s ex, Ellen Kardashian, may have done more than just drag Ellen’s name through the mud to make her mad.
In recent court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, Kris revealed that her relationship with Robert remained extremely close long after the pair had split and that the couple maintained constant contact up until a few weeks before his death.
“We just talked several times a day, every day,” admitted Kris, who has called her divorce from Robert her “one regret.”
Ellen’s marriage to Robert, which, according to his daughters, took place while he was allegedly too ill to fully comprehend what was happening, marked the end of Kris and Robert’s communication, much to the dismay of his family.
Ellen, whose sale of private Kardashian diaries and photos to tabloids have been called “calculated and cold” by Khloe Kardashian, and who has been referred to on multiple occasions as a “slippery snake” by former stepdaughter Kim Kardashian, reportedly kept Robert from his children during their relationship and six week marriage.
Despite these claims, Ellen says that it was the Kardashian kids who shied away from their dying father.
“The Kardashian children rarely visited Robert once he began cancer treatment,” Ellen claimed in court documents. “At the moment Robert took his last breath, none of his children were by his side, opting instead to attend a party at Kourtney’s home.”
Was it wrong for Kris to be such a constant presence in her ex-husband’s life, especially once she’d gotten remarried, or should Ellen have supported their friendship for the sake of Kris and Robert’s kids?
