While NBA free agent Lamar Odom fights for his life in a Las Vegas hospital, many are asking questions about “herbal Viagra” — the substance Khloe Kardashian’s ex is said to have used in the Nevada brothel where he was found unconscious.

There are several “herbal” male sexual enhancement supplements on the market, so there’s no telling what particular brand Lamar used. The brands available to purchase contain a wide range of unregulated substances, but the one thing they have in common is that they aren’t regulated by the FDA.

For that reason, Pfizer, the pharmaceutical company who manufactures actual Viagra, warns customers they could be ingesting some very harmful substances in unknown amounts when they take so-called herbal Viagra

In addition to amphetamines and powerful antibiotics, they often contain substances never intended to enter the body, such as blue printer ink and gypsum drywall.

At this time, we don’t know if the enhancement drug has anything to do with Lamar’s current condition. However, he reportedly took as many as 10 of the supplements, which have been known to cause severe and life-threatening drops in blood pressure, according to the Mayo Clinic.
