Lamar hasn’t had the easiest summer — the basketball star reportedly spiraled into drug use and infidelity, bending his marriage to Khloe Kardashian to its breaking point. Now, however, the reality husband has been getting his life back on track with the hope of playing basketball again.
“He just wants to get healthy and be there for his kids,” a source told E! News, adding that Lamar is “determined to play for the Lakers again.”
While Lamar is not currently on any basketball team, the NBA star spent the 2012-2013 season with the Los Angeles Clippers and has been working out consistently, determined to join the Lakers, with whom he spent seven years. Lamar’s barber, Enzo, even recently shared a photo of Lamar getting a haircut in preparation for a meeting with the Lakers.
“He is taking steps to get himself back on track,” the insider added. “He wants his old life back, although he realizes that might not include Khloe.”
Amid reports of multiple affairs and divorce papers that are right around the corner, Lamar’s marriage to Khloe may never get back to what it was. Although the couple were seen together in Calabasas, California following the announcement of Kris and Bruce Jenner’s separation, Khloe is reportedly planning her union with Lamar.
Nevertheless, Lamar seems to be surrounded by people who support him.
“He is surrounded by friends,” a source said. “We all hope he has turned a corner.”
