Lamar Odom Will Leave the U.S. to Save His Basketball Career — Report

Lamar Odom may have already moved out of the Calabasas mansion he shared with Khloe Kardashian, but it looks like the NBA star may be ready to put even more distance between himself and his estranged wife.

With his NBA career on hold for the moment following lackluster seasons with the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers, Lamar is reportedly looking to get back on the court, even if it means leaving the country.

A source for HollywoodLife claims, “[Lamar] is not going to play in the NBA again, for the signs and reasons for that have been addressed, but he is still a name and with his celebrity, he has put out feelers to possibly play in China as some other NBA stars have done in the past.”

While Lamar hasn’t signed a contract with an overseas team yet, he’s apparently using the threat of leaving the States to try to entice American teams to keep him on.

“He is basically using [China] as a tool to show that people still want his basketball services,” says the insider. “Lamar is delusional and really thinks he will play in the NBA again, and if there are offers on the table, then he believes he will get more, especially in the NBA.”

However, the source says that Lamar is “so obsessed with being in L.A. that he will not want to leave L.A. and the U.S. to be away for a long time and would ultimately not go to China unless he was desperate.”

Ultimately, says the insider, he will only give up on his dream of having a life and career in L.A. on two conditions: “No more money, no more marriage.”

Do you think Lamar can use the threat of leaving for China to get his career — or Khloe — back?
