Lamar Odom has a long way to go before he's out of the woods, but a new report seems to indicate that the former NBA star's condition has improved greatly. According to E! News, Lamar was able to get out of bed and briefly walk today, just days after he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel.

The site claims that Lamar was assisted out of his bed and walked, while aided, to a nearby chair where he sat down. While that may not seem like a huge deal, it's a great sign for someone who was just in a coma.

In addition to taking his first steps, Khloe Kardashian's estranged husband also passed a "swallow test", meaning he is able to swallow on his own. It's a positive sign of his neurological function and also is important for his ability to breathe without a machine.

Lamar is still wearing a mask to help the flow of oxygen, but he is able to breathe without assistance. His communication is mostly limited by hand gestures, though he did reportedly say, "Hey, baby," to Khloe upon seeing her on Friday.

The 35-year-old still has a long and difficult road to recovery ahead of him, but he is making great strides after he appeared all but lost just a few days ago.
