While the Kardashians were partying with their celebrity friends under a canopy of twinkling lights in Kris Jenner’s backyard on Christmas Eve, Lamar Odom was gearing up for a very different kind of holiday.

After a year of marital turmoil that ended amid allegations of infidelity and drug addiction, Lamar was served divorce papers by his wife, Khloe Kardashian, less than two weeks before Christmas, leaving the former NBA star to spend the holiday without the people he’d once called his “only family.”

According to, despite originally planning to spend his first single holiday in years with his ex-fiancée, Liza Morales, and his kids, Destiny and Lamar Jr., Lamar remained in L.A., grabbing comfort food at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles on December 23. The following day, while the Kardashians were celebrating Christmas Eve in over-the-top style, Lamar was persona non grata, distracting himself by stopping for photos with fans along the beach.

On Christmas Day, as his families in New York and California were exchanging gifts and reveling in the pleasure of each other’s company, Lamar finally got to spend time with his true love — but it wasn’t Khloe. Instead, he spent the holiday playing basketball in the park.
