While it may be too late to save his marriage, it looks as though Lamar Odom is still working hard to get the rest of his life back on track.

The former NBA star, whose estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, filed for divorce on December 13, has been trying for months to work his way back to the basketball court following rampant rumors of drug abuse and extramarital affairs, and it looks as though he’s redoubling his efforts as a newly-single man.

Life and Style reports that the new year has given Lamar new motivation to get back in shape, with outdoor enthusiasts spotting him taking daily hikes in L.A. celebrity workout destination Runyon Canyon and Studio City’s Fryman Canyon.

He's become a fixture on the hiking trail," says an eyewitness. "He looks really healthy and is clearly working out hard."

Another onlooker adds, “Celebrities come to to get away from the craziness of Hollywood and it seems to be working for Lamar because he keeps coming back.”

While social media-shy Lamar has, thus far, remained mum about his divorce proceedings, it seems as though his new workout spot may put him at risk for an uncomfortable confrontation with his soon-to-be ex-wife.

"I've seen Khloe here, but I've never seen them together," says the observer.

Although his efforts may be too little, too late for Khloe, the witness says it’s clear that the basketball star is giving his commitment to sobriety and personal improvement all he’s got, adding, "He looks like he's truly working hard to make a change."
