“I had bulimia for a few years,” said in a Facebook Live video with Motto on Tuesday. “I was really sick. I don’t know that person — I can’t believe that was me.”
The 21-year-old admitted that she “desperately wanted to be thin” and said she was “obsessed with it” at the time. The “Next Boyfriend” singer called it “ridiculous” that everything was going so great but she was just “unhappy.”
The biggest force in Lauren’s recovery was her mom. Kristy Suddeth made her daughter look into the mirror each day and say three things she loved about herself.
Happy Mother's Day to the most beautiful person I know. @kristytara8 thank you for all that you have done for me. I couldn't live my dream without the sacrifices you made along the way. Thank you for teaching me how love, laugh, and treat people with kindness. Those are all the things you do best. I love you so much momma. "When I love, I give it all I've got. Like My Mother Does"
“At first, I couldn’t name anything. It was so sad,” she said, then revealing how even the little things help these days. “I really like my eyelashes. That is such a stupid small thing, but it can be anything.”
The Georgia native’s second album — due out early next year — will drive home the themes of confidence and self-love to her fans because she wants people to “learn to love who they are.”
