Lauren Cohan Takes a Break From Filming The Walking Dead… But For a Good Cause!

Like many of her co-stars, Lauren Cohan (Maggie Greene) is back in Atlanta on The Walking Dead set to work on Season 5. In between learning her lines and filming new scenes, Lauren managed to host a charity concert for the Atlanta Music Project. Photos and details of the event were captured by Target Audience Magazine.

AMP was founded in 2010 with the purpose of providing intense music education for underserved children in Atlanta and its surrounding neighborhoods. The organization believes that through music kids learn confidence, creativity, and ambition, which in turn sparks positive social change in the children that take part. We don’t know exactly how Lauren first got involved with this worthy organization, but she was more than happy to host AMP’s Spring Concert on May 10.

The concert took place at the W Hotel Midtown in Atlanta, and Lauren wore a short-sleeved, light green dress as she walked the red carpet, mingled with guests, and gave a short speech explaining her passion for music and the importance of AMP. Guests were also treated to several performances from young, aspiring musicians.

The TWD cast is expected to be filming in and around Atlanta through November, so we think it’s fantastic Lauren has chosen to get involved with such a worthy cause while working in the bustling southern city. Maybe if AMP hosts another benefit in the near future, Lauren can bring some of her famous pals along!
