Lauren Jauregui Releases Song With Halsey — Is She Leaving Fifth Harmony?
Now another member of 5H has stepped out on her own and one has to wonder if the group really is gearing up to launch their own solo careers like One Direction.
On Thursday, Halsey released the single “Stranger” featuring 5H member Lauren Jauregui.
The single comes from Halsey’s forthcoming album Hopeless Fountain Kingdom and it’s the first time the 22-year-old singer wrote a song using female pronouns.
Both Halsey and Lauren have come out as bisexual and the new song marks an ownership of their identities that is truly inspiring.
Besides the use of female pronouns, the song itself is fantastic and perfectly blends Halsey’s and Lauren’s voices in a catchy tune about heartbreak.
The new single isn’t Lauren’s first solo venture, however.
At the end of last year, she collaborated with electro-pop duo Marian Hill on their single “Back To Me.”
Could this really be a sign the 20-year-old is preparing to take her career solo?
According to fellow 5H member and Dancing With The Stars Season 24 finalist Normani Kordei, who was recently questioned about whether she was leaving the group, the girls are staying together.
“We’re definitely all interested in different things and we’ll pursue solo endeavors, but right now Fifth Harmony is still the focus!” she told People magazine.
It looks like Harmonizers can rest easy, because 5H isn’t going anywhere.
