Law & Order creator Dick Wolf let Dann go after the show’s third season — along with co-star Richard Brooks — when NBC brass (understandably) demanded that Dick add women to the cast.

Don’t feel too bad for this 67-year-old, though. He reprised this role on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as a star of the spin-off’s first 15 seasons.

Michael left the show after Season 4 after butting heads with Dick Wolf over then-Attorney General Janet Reno’s request to tone down violence on TV.

The 76-year-old later appeared in the movies James Dean and Along Came a Spider and the TV shows Touched by an Angel, The 4400, and (pictured here) Masters of Horror.

Chris was fired after five seasons of Law & Order, but he and Dick Wolf eventually settled their differences enough for the actor to star in three seasons of Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

In the intervening years, though, Chris gained a whole new fanbase with his role as Mr. Big in Sex and the City. The 62-year-old also played another leading man, Peter Florrick across all seven seasons of The Good Wife.

Law & Order was Steven’s last big role — he starred on the show until Season 10 and passed away in 2016 at the age of 94.

But before L&O, he led another well-known franchise: the original Mission: Impossible TV show.
