Lea Michele and Darren Criss React to 2014 People’s Choice Awards Loss
After amassing an impressive eight nominations for the 2014 People’s Choice Awards, Glee actually only ended up winning two awards. But don’t think for a moment that the cast is full of sore losers! Quite the opposite. As the awards were airing, the jilted stars took to Twitter to share their thoughts, and they couldn't have been more gracious.
Lea Michele (Rachel) lost out on the coveted Favorite TV Comedy Actress award to The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco, but she didn’t let that get her down. After all, Lea and her co-star Naya Rivera (Santana) took home a shared award for Favorite TV Gal Pals, and she chose to focus on that positive. In fact, Lea didn’t even mention her loss.
Darren Criss (Blaine) lost the award for Favorite TV Comedy Actress to his co-star Chris Colfer (Kurt), but instead of holding a pity party, he immediately took to Twitter to congratulate his on-screen love interest.
But while there were no hard feelings, it’s worth noting that neither Darren nor Lea showed up to the PCAs. Lea gave no reason for her absence, but Darren did take to Twitter to explain why he didn’t make it.
Bummed to not be at @peopleschoice tonight, watching from home while getting over this wonderful little flu 2014 gave me as a welcome gift.
