Glee star Lea Michele (Rachel) has obviously had to deal with some tough times this year, especially with Cory Monteith having passed away suddenly in July. But we're thrilled that she's also getting to enjoy some truly exciting moments, as she spent the weekend shooting the music video for her album's first single. Go, Lea!
Lea has been working on her debut solo since the end of 2012, and the album is basically done, with the exception of two songs that she has recently been working on since Cory's death. Now, Lea appears to be gearing up for the release of her first single, as she posted photos to Twitter on November 7 from her music video shoot.
"SO EXCITED," Lea captions a photo of the video's set. "SHOOTING MY VERY FIRST MUSIC VIDEO TODAY FOR THE FIRST ALBUM SINGLE!"
"Truly an incredible day," Lea captions a still from the video as seen from a monitor on the set. "Thank you @melaniemakeup @marktownsend1 @Ashlie_Johnson & @EsteeStanley #dreamcometrue."
So when exactly will we get to hear this single and see the finished video? It's not yet clear, and we don't even know which song will be chosen as Lea's first single. Lea recently revealed that her album's release date has been pushed until 2014, so she can add a song about boyfriend Cory Monteith after he tragically passed away in July 2013.
“The album was done and the label said, ‘Do you want to add anything?’” Lea told Ellemagazine earlier this month. “I was like, ‘I might regret it if I don’t.’”
In order to honor Cory, Lea teamed up with Australian singer-songwriter Sia and penned a song called “If You Say So,” which are the last words Cory ever spoke to Lea.
Since “If You Say So” is still technically in the works, we have a feeling it won’t be the album’s first single but we’re sure whatever song Lea chose for her first music video will be a fantastic.
“Truly an incredible day,” Lea wrote on Twitter. “#DreamComeTrue.”
