We've been waiting a looong time to hear Glee star Lea Michele (Rachel) perform a tune off her upcoming album live for the first time. Now, our wish has been granted, as Lea performed her first single, "Cannonball," on Ellen DeGeneres's show this week!

Ever since Lea started working on her album Louder back in late 2012, we've been on pins-and-needles to hear what it would sound like. Our first peek at it finally came this week, as "Cannonball" debuted on iTunes a few days ago, and now Lea has performed the anthemic tune on TV.

This song is basically everything we were hoping for in a debut single from Lea. It gives Lea a chance to really belt, not to mention that the lyrics are about conquering adversity, which seems appropriate given Glee's themes. Plus, the song is just darn catchy.

We also love Lea's performance of the tune on Ellen. Lea looks beautiful in that black dress, and we love how invested in the lyrics and passionate about the song she seems to be as she sings.

Long story short: We can't wait to hear the entire album when it's released in March! We're definitely going to fly, fly, fly to the store to buy it.

What do you think of Lea's performance?
